The 2nd TERRACE CHAWAN: hand-thrown in a delightfully dented 'horse-bucket' shape, honouring one of many historical Chawan forms of Chinese, Korean & Japanese pottery. Hand-painted cobalt with iron decorative painting employs a traditonal Andean Step motif; this tea-bowl invites aesthetic contemplation of the mountain and rugged earth. Its rounded ergonomic rim tops a double bellied sturdy sidewall. This bowl features a food-safe clear glaze, exposing a granular tan claybody with mica grog. Suited best for Autumn matcha whisking with good thermal mass yet large pool surface for rising vapors. However it's perfect to eat and drink from, and is well suited in any culinary or decorative setting to highlight excellent craftsmanship and rustic artistry.
