This unique set of five bowls with cobalt blue underglaze counting decoration is an homage to the natural form of the calabash gourd, or mate vessel. Each special variant echoes the organic curves of the gourd inspiration. All pieces are wheel thrown porcelain with  hand-painted cobalt under a clear food-safe glaze. These vessels can serve in many applications, as dishes, jars, caddies, or in precious storage and organization; utility of this archetypal calabash shape mixes with fine craft and playful aesthetic. 
Claybody is exposed on underside with maker's 'W' mark. Pieces are delivered with signed artist's letter and documentation of the works. This is the only ceramic set currently available on our shop, and by investing in this unique art-set you support the emergence and continual development of our independent studio.
